Open Day with REDI Recycling

_REDI Recycling aims to formalize secondary raw materials collectors by establishing a system for primary waste selection_

REDI Recycling is hosting the event “Open Day with REDI Recycling”, with the purpose of supporting the efforts and recycling work of Roma people across the country and highlighting their importance in the Green Economy.

REDI Recycling will present its strategy and provide various insights related to the involvement of Roma in the Green Economy. REDI Recycling is a social enterprise led by Roma waste collectors using a circular economy for recycling secondary raw materials.

The event brings together decision-makers at the highest level, representatives of the national government, civil society, financial institutions, embassies, and Roma people actively involved in recycling in North Macedonia. At the end of the event, the team of REDI Recycling will greet the guests and present their eco-friendly tricycles, 100% electrical, at the Macedonian Square.

When you put the whole picture together, recycling is the right thing to do, and through REDI Recycling we aim to create an impact and send a positive message on how the future must look like so I’m very truthful that Roma people will be part of the change and help this city be greener and a safer place for us all

The recycling event is organized by REDI Recycling, with the financial support of the Reconomy program, Helvetas, Sweden Sverige, Federal Ministry Republic of Austria and Open Society Foundations Roma Initiatives Offices. The project is implemented by REDI North Macedonia in partnership with the European Environmental Bureau and Umwelt Dachverband.

The initiative is driven by Roma Entrepreneurship Development Initiative – REDI Skopje, using social enterprise as a business model.
